2013 S.A.R.P. Annual Trend Session:
The 2013 S.A.R.P. Annual Trend Session was held Thursday April 11th at the Regina Travelodge with guest speaker Howie Dayton. Background on the 2011 National Recreation Summit was presented, followed by a discussion of how the learning’s from the summit can be addressed locally. The session finished with participants providing feedback on the priorities identified from the 2011 National Recreation Summit, which will help form, Saskatchewan’s contribution to the National Recreation Agenda.

S.A.R.P. Roy Ellis Bursary: Deadline April 26, 2013
The Roy Ellis Bursary is provided annually to a student in at least their second year of a leisure-related post secondary program that includes recreation, sport, and culture. It acknowledges the contributions made by Mr. Roy Ellis to the leisure services field in Saskatchewan.
The scholarship amount is $500 annually. Each student member is eligible to win this bursary one time only. There are three bursaries awarded each year.

SIAST Recreation & Tourism Program Update
On February 4th representatives from SPRA, S.A.R.P. and SIAST Community Services met to discuss the Recreation and Tourism Program. At the meeting it was indicated that SIAST is committed to the program and that a further review of the name and curriculum will be conducted. The Advisory Committee will be used to inform and guide the review process and assist in the long term vision for the field. Click here for more information.
